This post was created in partnership with Minute Maid as part of their #doingood campaign. All opinions and ideas are 100% mine.

Over the past few months, we’ve been sharing some ideas for creating “Reverse Care Packages” for parents in our lives who deserve to be recognized for #doingood. This time, I decided that no one is more deserving of a surprise treat than my sis! Some of you who have been following us from the beginning of our blog may know our story, but for those who don’t, Nat and I have not lived in the same city since I got married almost 18 years ago (yikes!) We first started our blog after I moved to Idaho, and she lived 8 hours away from me in southern Utah. The blog was a way for us to stay connected while we lived apart. We loved seeing each other when we could, which was a few times a year, but we always dreamed of the day when we might live close enough to meet for lunch, take our kids to the park together, and have sister nights every week!

Last month, our dreams finally came true when Nat moved only seven miles away from me! We’ve been enjoying every minute of this newfound sister bonding time. But moving to a new place is hard, and I know Nat has had a few stressful weeks with unpacking, sick kids, and trying to navigate the summer routine. So, I surprised her with a nostalgic care package, themed around one of our favorite summer movies we watched together as kids, Summer Magic.

Do any of you remember this movie?

It’s a Hayley Mills’ classic, one of my family’s favorites, and has so many great songs that we sang together! For the care package, I put together some fun activities and treats based on the songs from the movie.

The basket includes a bug craft for our kids, inspired by the song, “Ugly Bug Ball,” and a few pink goodies for Nat from the song, “She’s the Pink of Perfection,” including her favorite juice, Minute Maid Ruby Red Grapefruit.

One of the most memorable scenes from the movie takes place during a lawn party where they are playing croquet, so the final gift was a croquet set for our families to use this summer!

Nat was so shocked when I surprised her with the care package, she almost cried! I’m so happy she loves it and we can’t wait to watch the movie together at our next sister’s night.

We broke out the craft supplies right away and made these DIY bug headbands with the kids. A simple summer boredom buster for sure! They enjoyed choosing their colors of fuzzy sticks, pom poms and googly eyes. The bugs turned out super cute!

I’m so grateful for Nat and all she does for me and my kids. It is so amazing to have her living close to us and for our kids to be able to start making their own summer memories together! The other night, we enjoyed our first game of croquet together on a beautiful summer evening. We had fun showing our kids how to play the game we loved when we were young.
